Example complaints
Electrical system: “The passlock feature on the truck engages frequently without cause making me sit and wait out the 10-minute delay. This is always inconvenient, especially at the gas station with long lines behind me. This problem has the potential for being a safety hazard. The internet has a passlock by-pass procedures but I'm reluctant to modify the vehicle without GM's authorization. The local dealer had the truck for some time and came back with unable to find fault. The issue is so random that unless the truck is in their possession for a week it will not do it. This problem has me very much frustrated.”
NHTSA complaint #11047031, filed 2017-11, 36,000 milesEngine: “I am not able to start the truck most of the time. It goes into a safety mode and I have to wait 10 minutes. Thankfully my family has not been injured yet due to this but I don't think it should come down to injury. Their is lots of complaints about GM's passlock system and it is very dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #11024797, filed 2017-09Air bags: “The air bag warning light illuminated. This failure has occurred on multiple previous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.”
NHTSA complaint #10701887, filed 2015-03, 98,000 milesBrakes: “I discovered I had no brake lights when driving. I had this fixed at the dealer and it was the stop lamp switch malfunctioning. It turns out there is a recall on this part for 2004-2009 Colorado's but not my 2010. Somebody could of been killed!”
