“I bought a 2015 chevy Colorado at the beginning of the year - since then I would on occasion notice a shudder or sluggish acceleration followed by sudden burst of rpms/acceleration. At about the 3 month mark (around 4500 miles) my transmission failed and was replaced. About a 3/4 of a month later I got my truck back and continued to notice the same shudder and erratic behavior. I began to research the issue and found many drivers of this and the gmc model are encountering the same issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #10759986, filed 2015-08, 4,500 miles“When slowing down and then accelerating afterward while in traffic the vehicle does not down shift to the correct gear. The vehicle will then sputter and will be very sluggish to accelerate. This happens while in motion as well as from a complete stop. I was nearly rear ended while making a right turn into traffic and the truck would not find the correct gear and thus would not accelerate enough to get out of the way from oncoming traffic. Several times I thought that the truck was going to kill because it was sputtering so much when in the incorrect gear. …”
NHTSA complaint #11041135, filed 2017-10, 1,000 miles“Front gauge panel not responding. Only the battery gauge is working. A service message shows for all affected areas. No indication of transmision shift, speed, temperature, oil, tachometer and ohter features not shown on panel. Vehicle still able to run.”
NHTSA complaint #11052645, filed 2017-12, 20,000 miles“This issue has been occurring since we purchased the vehicle in october of 2019. The vehicle will be traveling at various speeds at varius RPM's in various weather conditions. …”
