“Since shortly after purchasing the vehicle new, I have experienced hard shifting, slipping when accelerating, also experience rough idle at times.I have had the torque converter replaced but I still ha e the problem. I've even had the service manager ride with me and he stated he experienced the lugging sensation, and said it's normal, they still did nothing to help me, and this is noted on their service record! This vehicle has been in the shop several times for the same issue, and I get the same answer as they find nothing wrong.”
NHTSA complaint #11396385, filed 2021-02, 31,719 miles“2019 chevy Colorado with 13125 miles driving st rt 45 lisbon ohio 40 - 45 MPH up slight grade, noticed / smelled smoke in console area between seats, tried to do minor acceleration to get over slight grade and the engine died. Pulled into parking lot to stop and no brakes no power steering ,tried emergency brake still did not stop. Split decision to either crash into concrete barrier or get back onto highway. Light traffic so muscled truck back on highway and bumped curb to try and slow vehicle. Finally slowed enough to try emergency brake again and it worked to stop truck. …”
NHTSA complaint #11329551, filed 2020-06, 13,125 miles“I purchased my 2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 new in Feb 2019 from a dealership. About two years ago I began having shifting issues from 1st to 2nd gear, it would shudder and seem almost stuck, this would only occur infrequently. Right after I hit 100,000 miles (about a year ago) I have had nothing but issues with the 8 speed transmission, my vehicle is unable to shift from 1st to 2nd without having the shudder occur, it feels like the whole truck is shaking and loses power at acceleration. …”
NHTSA complaint #11625067, filed 2024-11“As I went around a turn (low speed), the truck lost power steering for about a half of a second. It came back online right away, but caused me to take the turn poorly. At the same time, the engine shut down and all of the lights on the dash went out. I stopped the vehicle, put it in park and restarted the vehicle. Everything then worked as if nothing was wrong. There are not any warning lights. It was as if someone simply turned off the ignition for a minute.”
NHTSA complaint #11427648, filed 2021-08“In and out of the shop for the last 3.5 years (Warranty is expired now) with multiple engin codes (CEL). Most having to do with the fuel delivery systems. Most common P026D, and P1089. It has been in the shop at least 6 or more times. GM won't stand by their product. Since the warranty ended I've put mor than $4,000 in to repairs for this and now I'm told it will cost me anouther $6000 to $7000 to repair. I bout this truck used with 60,000 miles on it and paid cash $50,000 to the dealer the originally sold it to the previous owner. I just want them to fix the issue once and for all. …”
