“I was driving on highway when I noticed several people passing me on the right and pointing down at my truck. I remember my truck had slowed down and when I went to press on the gas and move to the right lane to pull over it did not respond. I then noticed smoke filling the cabin that was coming from underneath and up through the transmission stick. When I hit the brakes they went right to the floor. I ended up using the ebrake to slow the truck down and pull to the side. When I exited the vehicle it was already on fire and I proceeded to move myself to safety. …”
NHTSA complaint #11414227, filed 2021-04, 14,000 miles“The transmission surges causing the truck to lunge forward when starting from a stop. The key will not turn completely off allowing the key to be removed. Both events occur occasionally so if the dealer says it did not happen to them then there is nothing they can do. Both things are being reported on the internet by numerous people. Both things are safety hazards.”
NHTSA complaint #11372500, filed 2020-11, 100 miles“The key remains stuck in the ignition when the vehicle is turned off. This started occurring intermittently about two months ago but has become constant in the last two weeks. I'm concerned about leaving the key due theft concerns. I have an appointment with the dealer, but my research has found that this problem has been persistent with model years 2016 to the present.”
NHTSA complaint #11422367, filed 2021-06“Every time I'm driving on highway the truck keeps vibrating and feel like its going to shut off any minute. Also when I try to pass a vehicle it takes couple seconds to responds and then I feel like the transmission kicks. I feel like chevy should do a recall to fix this popular problems. In other words the truck has problems shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. You feel a little kick/jump when you hit the gas.”
NHTSA complaint #11476800, filed 2022-07“Forward collision goes off on its own for no reason, my ac went out at 4000 miles and cemetery froze over, my rear third brake light leaked at 5 months old and ruint my headliner and they wouldn't fix it without me paying, and now I am experiencing the shudder from my transmission that appears to be a common issue with all the trucks chevy put out. I also feel as if they will find a way to not cover this as I am out of warranty”
