“Turn signals only work intermittently. We never know when they will stop working or start. Can't fix. Have owned this 2000 Corvette for 7 years now. We have had the turn signals replaced trying to correct the problem, over and over again, but they still will just only work intermittently. My husband is hard of hearing and he doesn't realize they are not working. I am worried about his safety. In addition, it has been very costly and frustrating to us to keep trying and trying to fix it with no avail.”

NHTSA complaint #10206918, filed 2007-10, 17,000 miles

“The hazard switch is faulty. All of the wiring for the brake and turn signals goes through the hazard switch. Every Corvette forum details the faulty hazard switch. Because of the poor quality of the part, and the poor design of the electrical system, if the hazard switch malfunctions, there are no brake lights, and/or no turn signals or hazard lights. There is no indication that the switch is malfunctioning until another motorist notifies you verbally or by crashing into you, or perhaps if law enforcement pulls you over for it.”

NHTSA complaint #10640041, filed 2014-09, 93,000 miles

“Turn signals intermittently fail due to faulty hazard warning flasher unit. Most, if not all states mandate the use of turn signals when turning or changing lanes. Failure of signals to operate when activated can lead to traffic citations, injuries and possibly death when others are not aware of your intentions.”

NHTSA complaint #10128205, filed 2005-07, 39,000 miles

“While driving at any speed either turn signals will fail to operate. Consumer had the vehicle inspected by a dealership, who was not able to determine the cause of the turn signals being inoperable. Consumer was aware of other Corvette owner's that had the same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10087667, filed 2004-08, 30,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the turn signals failed to illuminate intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 54,000.”
