“The ABS tcs system on my 2000 Corvette has malfunctioned. I've been told that this can't be repaired. After researching this seems to be a chronic problem on this vehicle. My Corvette only has 49000 miles on it and this is a serious safety issue involving control of the vehicle during an emergency braking condition, especially on wet roads.”
NHTSA complaint #11386239, filed 2021-01, 49,000 miles“The consumer stated the rear and side windows have spots/haze that were present in the glass which obstructed the consumer's vision while driving at night. The manufacturer determined the only way to remedy the problem would be to replace the glass. Additionally, the consumer noticed slight movement in the front end when driving. During normal routine maintenance, the consumer discovered both front upper and lower ball joints were not torqued correctly during manufacturing. The local dealership was contacted and provided instructions on how to correctly torque the ball joints. …”
NHTSA complaint #10148130, filed 2006-01, 9,000 miles“Forward mounting bracket for the lr upper control arm for the suspension sheared...further investigation has shown a crack in the frame rail underneath the bracket. Not sure what came first, the crack in the frame, causing the bracket to shear off, or the bracket failing, putting stress on the frame and cracking the frame...either way...not good!!”
NHTSA complaint #759764, filed 2002-03“Active handlings system which is designed to detect spin out and brake opposing tires to control yaw vs. Steering wheel angle activated while I was driving at high speed in a straight line causing a dangerous spin out and loss of control on the highway. Service active handling light then illuminated. Unexpected and uncalled for activation of the system caused loss of control of the vehicle and a near collision at high speed.”
NHTSA complaint #737420, filed 2000-12“Heard a loud noise from rear end whenever a turn was being made. Also, steering column intermittently locked up. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide further details.”
