“Fuel vapors leaking from evap system causing check engine light to come on, code p0455. I took it to the dealership and the service rep informed me that the leak was from coming from gas tank. I was told to drive the car until check engine comes back on and then call the dealership so he could contact GM.”

NHTSA complaint #11170969, filed 2019-01, 39,100 miles

“Overwhelming fuel odors.. At first I assumed it might be a bad fuel cap. Replaces with oem fuel cap and smell if still very much present.. 1 thing to note.. Smell is present only when fuel tank is filled past half a tank. When I only put about 5-6 gallons from empty; there is no smell or odor.. Have tried it on several occasions and has proven positive on each fill up over 6 gallons..”

NHTSA complaint #10935300, filed 2016-12, 75,838 miles

“I have a very strong fuel smell coming from the drivers side near the rear wheel. I believe the problem to be a leak from the top of the fuel pump module, maybe it's cracked and spraying fuel on top of my tank. I am afraid the fuel will run down onto the exhaust pipe and catch fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10946877, filed 2017-01, 40,000 miles

“Fuel vapors coming from the fuel tank ;possible crack in fuel pump spraying fuel everywhere;I can close my garage door because I can't breathe because of the gas odor.it's worse when I put ten gallons or more”

NHTSA complaint #11403029, filed 2021-03, 45,056 miles

“The car smells of fuel continuously in side and out. This started happening within the last 5 weeks without cause. It seems more pronounced on the drivers wheel well. It seems that is a more pronounced problem when the tank is 1/2 full or higher. I can not park the car in the garage as it stinks up the house. I've learned from research that there is a plastic elbow connector that deteriorates over time on top of the tank, cracks and sprays fuel. If this is not a safety recall, it certainly should be.”
