“Car will randomly turn off while driving. Sometimes it s full engine and power failure and sometimes it is just engine failure and accessories still stay on . This has happened since the car was new and has been looked into by several chevy dealers in my area. Autonation told me he had several other chevys that did the same thing.”

NHTSA complaint #11320437, filed 2020-04, 200 miles

“The turbo charger is known for going out. This can cause loss of power- even on highways. My turbo lost power on the highway, causing my speed to drop down to 50 MPH. I am in a lot of chevy Cruze forums and this is the main complaint. Your speed can be normal and then all of a sudden just drop down to barely anything. This could cause someone to rear-end you.”

NHTSA complaint #11288585, filed 2019-12, 80,000 miles

“After the vehicle started with clutch fully depressed, I put the car into 1st gear it lunged forward about an inch and now it will not engage in any gear. Car only has 53,000 miles on it. I can let the clutch out completely while in gear and let off the break and there seems to be almost a grinding while depressing the clutch, then I have the clutch fully let out and the car goes nowhere.”

NHTSA complaint #11094009, filed 2018-05, 53,000 miles

“Faulty turbocharger, multiple owners that I spoke to have replaced their turbocharger twice only to know that it keeps failing. The turbocharger ruined my catalytic converter which had to be replace du to a crack in the turbocharger.”

NHTSA complaint #11384898, filed 2020-12, 80,000 miles

“I was checking a lot of the stats online for the 2014 chevy Cruze and there were already reports out safety reports that there were some issues with the vehicles ignition and power steering and there were numbers and codes and I'm a bit upset because they sold me this vehicle knowing that there was some things that were wrong with the vehicle and that could have been my safety at risk while I'm driving on the road and the engine just shuts down the way it's been doing.”
