“The steering kind of locks while in motion and you have to force it sometimes to turn. Once I adjust the column it will shut the car off and then once I start the car again it will be fine for a while and I have to keep doing it over and over again. But the computer reads it's fine and the machanic can't find anything wrong with it”

NHTSA complaint #10821847, filed 2016-01, 80,000 miles

“I,m driving and with no warning there's no power steering at all till this day and the dealership can not figure out the problem but I read that it happened to lots of people with the same car please do something before something bad happens and let us know what the problem really is so me and my family can be safe and we can get it fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #10588443, filed 2014-05, 79,000 miles

“2008 Chevrolet Equinox sport makes a loud popping/clunking noise in the front end when going over bumps. It also pops loud when turning the steering wheel. When I am driving on straight and smooth roads, there is no issue whatsoever. I have taken my vehicle to four different shops and had it looked at by eight different mechanics and no one can figure out the problem. This needs to be fixed by general motors immediately! I strongly feel that this can become a serious safety issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11319341, filed 2020-03, 90,147 miles

NHTSA complaint #10735871, filed 2015-07, 133,446 miles

“The power steering has gone out making it very difficult to steer and park at low speeds. I've several forums with this problem occurring a lot. I don't understand why this vehicle is not part of the power steering recalls. It's nearly $1,000 to have this part replaced!”
