“I lease a 2022 Equinox. February 15, 2023 I was driving from the store and began to pull in my driveway. I live on a dirt, dead end road. I turned the steering wheel and there was no reaction. The car kept going straight. I put on the brakes and the car didn't stop or slow down. I was stopped when I hit my own lamp post and a large rock at the end of my driveway. There was no warning that anything was out of the ordinary. Just no response to the steering wheel and nothing when I applied the brake. There wasn't anything different in the brakes or steering wheel, they felt normal. …”

As a result, the contact crashed into the guard rail on the side of the road causing damage to the entire passenger side of the vehicle. No one was injured. A police report was filed. The car position was half in the parking space and half way in traffic. Then the car locked up with lights appeared on the dashboard, engine light comes on, ESC and car with wiggly lines. The car would not move forward, reversed, nor could I cut off the engine. Was afraid to take foot off brakes since the car would not cut off engine. Call the tow truck and it was towed to the dealer with engine running and lights still on. …”
NHTSA complaint #11541857, filed 2023-08“The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that after the dealer performed a transmission flush, the check engine warning light intermittently illuminated while driving. Additionally, the steering wheel jerked abnormally, and the radio went blank while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure.
