“I was heading out to my car and tried to remote start my car and it did t work and I tried it twice and then got in my car and notice my check engine light and power steering came on after I put the car in gear and began moving and I stopped and when I went to turn it was hard to turn and had to use to hands and I did research and this a know problem and the remotes and this power steering issue should be recalled or it may hurt or kill someone”
NHTSA complaint #11228664, filed 2019-07, 140,000 miles“For the last year, the traction control light has stayed on as well as the engine light. Shifting is difficult and I am afraid that it will effect the transmission and that the transmission will eventually be destroyed. There are several websites where other people are having the same problems but to my knowledge GM has not recalled these vehicles for this problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10532217, filed 2013-07, 70,000 miles“Roof mounted antenna hits sunroof glass hard at speeds over 75 MPH. I would also like to note that, the vehicle I am trying to report is not on your list of cars from the menu. I am not driving a cobalt, I am driving a 2006 Chevrolet HHR, which is on the same chassis as a cobalt. Please add to HHR to your list of vehicle to select from. Thanks.”
NHTSA complaint #10137833, filed 2005-09, 20 miles“Inside front door handles are broke, one has been broke for a while, if I'm in the car and something happens it becomes a death trap. I checked online and have seen this is a common ongoing problem with HHR's. It doesn't matter what year it is, people are complaining about it and one person traded his in because his wife got stuck in the car. This is something that GM apparently has been aware of but did nothing. I guess they are waiting for someone to die. It doesn't matter if the vehicle is moving or not it's the same problem you can't open the door.”
NHTSA complaint #10788993, filed 2015-11, 68,000 miles“My shifting lever went out in my car, the reason why I think its a defect.is because one of my neihbors bought the same exact car I have and hers went out 2 weeks ago. Then I went online and there are bulitens people have wrote about theres going out. 2006 chevy HHR”
