“My service airbag sensor light had been on since I purchased my car a year ago, I am going to sell it but I didn't want to sell it with something that has to do with safety being questionable. I drove it to auto nation yesterday june 11th to see if it was a recall. They said there hasn't been one. I drove it home and started searching online for possible problems with it and there were so many posts about this issue. I searched under the passenger seat because that's what I read to do and low and behold all types of wires under it are completely severed and torn up. …”

NHTSA complaint #11101421, filed 2018-06, 150,000 miles

“The driver seat belt is sticking and will not latch. If you do get it to latch it will unlatch with the slightest movement. I took the vehicle to the dealership to have it looked at. They told me the technician was unable to get the latch unstuck. They told me it was a faulty mechanism and that it would need to be replaced, but they do not just replace the latch, they would have to replace the latch and the entire seat belt assembly with the tensioner. However they did not have this item in stock and they would have to order it and I would have to bring the vehicle back for the repairs. …”

NHTSA complaint #10649761, filed 2014-10, 130,000 miles

“Driver and passenger seat belts have cuts in the out side edges. Seems to be caused by the re-tractor mechanism as the cuts are inside the door pillars when they are retracted. Has this happened on any other impalas and what should we do?”
