1994: “After flooring the gas pedal, it stuck to floor caused vehicle to continue accelerating. Once had to shutoff engine another time it happened briefly and fixed itself. Upon inspection I noticed a piece of metal wire splintered and would get caught in other parts when fully depressing accelerator pedal. Bought replacement for throttle cable link. I think this will fix it.”
NHTSA complaint #10604667, filed 2014-06, 216,000 miles1991: “Paint on the roof and hood of our 1991 chevy 2500 extra cab pickup started peeling off. I checked several times as to why my pickup did not meet the recall on the paint job that so many other GM vehicles had received. My husband and son finished peeling off the hood and repainted it but hadn't gotten to the roof. In driving around I see lots of pickups that just the hood and roof have no or little paint left on them.”
NHTSA complaint #10334808, filed 2010-06, 5,000 miles1992: “I own a 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck and the windshield wipers sometimes work and sometimes won't. There is a recall on wiper motors, but it does not go back to that model year. I don't dare replace the motor with one from a junk yard because of the same problem and I am wondering if others are seeing this problem with 1992 models.”
