“Takata recall I currently own this vehicle and I'm not able to use the blinkers or emergency lights when you turn them on all you hear is a loud alarm sounding nosie. They do not come on when this happens. I know they work some times but it's very few and in between . I seen there has been recalls in the past for this on this car but the elderly lady wasn't aware of them . Is there anything I can do under the recall to get this fixed. I had a mechanic look at it and there not sure how to fix it.”
NHTSA complaint #11231222, filed 2019-07, 100,000 miles“I own a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu classic and am experiencing intermittent turn signal failure . While attempting a left turn , the turn signals failed to illuminate when activated. In addition, there is a rapid ticking and the hazard lights become inoperable. I was told about a recall for this problem so contacted I manufacturer and was told my VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 67,000 and the current mileage 72,000.”
NHTSA complaint #10644621, filed 2014-10, 67,000 miles“Car drove well for 4 years no problem, then signal lights stopped working, works sometimes, but most of the time doesn't, have had bulbs changed many times, brand new bulbs, signals works when they want to. I've been honked at & cars have blew their horns at my vehicle because I have to turn sometimes & it fails to work, then I saw recall on internet.”
NHTSA complaint #10240709, filed 2008-09, 88,100 miles“My turn signals fail to work. I have to commute an hour to school everyday on a crowded highway and I have almost got into several accidents because I have to merge with no blinkers. Called the dealership and said my car was not part of the recall, but I have the same problem and the same make and model of the recall. Very annoying, I don't have $300 to fix my blinkers.”
NHTSA complaint #10289110, filed 2009-10, 120,000 miles“I purchased a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu in 06/2007 from a independent salesman. A few months later when I use my turn signals they will come on sometime then sometime they don't show after I turn them on. I check fuses and things everything is good. I am scared when I turn because I don't know if they are going to come on.”
