“Twice under normal driving conditions the rear window has exploded. This happens when I run the rear defroster. I contacted my GM dealer about the problem and they faulted the window installation. The window installers fault the defroster, which is what I believe is at fault also. Both time I have been lucky enough to not have any kids in the back seat. Had there been any kids back there they would have been showered in glass.”
NHTSA complaint #725060, filed 2000-07“Whenever windshield wipers are in use they would stop on their own & then would restart on their own. An intermittent problem. Would have no warning when it would happen. This would cause driver to have poor visibility in hazardous driving conditions. Been to dealership for repairs & contacted manufacturer. Vehicle not under recall 97v017000 due to VIN, although it had the same problem.”
NHTSA complaint #852341, filed 1999-11“Owner has ABS brakes; brake pedal goes to the floor when brakes are used; dealer could not find anything wrong, but was told her vehicle wasn't safe to drive; also, brakes sometimes just don't work. Also rear defogger inoperative due to short.”
NHTSA complaint #806392, filed 1997-01“Owner states that there is a blind spot while trying to see out of rear window, she also notes when trying to use rearview mirror all you see is the rear of your own vehicle.”
