“Window regulator has gone out three times on two windows. 2008, 2010, 2014. The whole system is a bad design and cable jumps track at the least of bit jarring. This is a scary thing to happen as when the window falls it is a loud popping sound. Twice window fell down at car wash. Once traveling 55 miles an hour. Thought someone shot at the car. If window falls while no one is around theft could occur or if raining it will soak your car. Someone needs to investigate how these window regulators are made because they are not safe. …”

“The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. While driving approximately 55 MPH in rainy weather conditions, the windshield wipers worked normally. When the wipers were deactivated, the blades remained in an upward position. The failure was annoying and hindered visibility. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. The current mileage is 90,000 and the failure mileage was 88,000. Updated 10-30-08 the consumer stated the windshield are in an upward position when they are not in use. Updated 10/31/08.”

Since calling in this report, the dealer has replaced the mirror. The replacement mirror operates better than the original. It still however has the effect of blinding the driver.”
