“Central multiport fuel injector assembly failed, causing fuel to enter the oil pan and damage the motor. Fuel was spraying under the phlenem and could have caused a fire. Same unit has failed just over 15 months later, again spraying gas under the phlenem, thankfully again no fire, just spraying of gas.”
NHTSA complaint #10023602, filed 2003-06, 131,300 miles“I read in the news that NHTSA was investigating GM s series pickups for the spare tire carrier failing. This unit failed while backing out of a drive way. The only damage is to the spare tire carrier itself. If everyone with a failure will notify you, it will give more weight to your case. If this had failed on the expressway, it could have had disasterous results.”
NHTSA complaint #709347, filed 1999-07“While driving on a back road heard a loud noise and back end of vehicle vibrated violently. Stopped and noticed the spare tire was laying on the road. Cable wire that held the spare tire frayed. Contacted dealer.”
NHTSA complaint #863161, filed 2000-06“#ea94-038 front and rear brake was replace total of four times have ABS anti-lock brake, #a94-029 the alternator was replaced a year ago still having the problem. Right rear axle seal leak. Noise coming from rear. Ehcu module replaced, brakes replaced three times, replaced front pads, and turned rotors. Service engine soon light illuminated. Air conditioner compressor failed. Alternator and battery failed. Transmission jerks. Wiper blades replaced, did not clean well.”
