“The contacts son owned a 2004 Chevrolet SILVERADO 2500 hd. While driving approximately 60 MPH on a 60 MPH curve, the vehicle flipped forward several times. It struck a fence before being stopped by a tree. The contacts son was partially ejected from the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. Her son was transported by helicopter to a local hospital where he passed away hours later. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer has not yet been notified. The current and failure mileages were 35,000. Updated 3/25/08 texas crash report. Updated 03/25/08”

The contact stated that as the vehicle was started, the front driver side air bag inadvertently deployed. The contact suffered minor injuries from the air bag deployment. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was in the process of being repaired. The failure and current mileage was 61,900. Updated 05/24/11 updated 05/26/11”
