“While in park in our driveway, engine turned off, and keys in my hand the suburban rolled backwards down our driveway, knocking me down and rolling over my leg where it then stopped in the middle of the street. 911 was called and I was transported from the scene to the hospital where I was admitted. We are highly concerned about this incident”
NHTSA complaint #11133555, filed 2018-10, 100,200 miles“The dashboard is severely cracked in multiple spots. I fear if involved in an accident my airbags would be compromised. Not to mention one crack is on the passenger airbag which is recalled due to the takata inflators recall that seems to never be resolved. I am aware of many gmc/Chevrolet owners that have this issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11102921, filed 2018-06, 95,365 miles“Dashboard is cracked. I understand there is a lawsuit about it. Our vehicle is not part of takata air bag recall even though it has spent plenty of time in the southern states that are part of the recall.”
NHTSA complaint #10908360, filed 2016-09, 48,000 miles“Cracked dashboard. The dashboard in my 2011 Chevrolet suburban cracked in two places on my way home from work on may 8, 2017. The cracks extend from the seam near the windshield to the front seam of the dash board. One is close to the driver's side instrument cluster an the other leads from the windshield to the passenger-side airbag housing. I was driving on a well paved, four lane road with a center turning lane. The road is well travelled and well maintained. As I stopped at the first light, I heard a cracking and then a clicking sound. …”
NHTSA complaint #10984703, filed 2017-05, 129,111 miles“Dashboard is cracked in several places now - 1st crack was top of dash behind instrument cluster. 2nd crack now at passenger side airbag area at the top of the dash. In 2015, the vehicle was taken to the dealership to have it addressed. Service manager said there was nothing he could do but another manager stated it was a known problem with the suburbans. Chevy rep was suppose to inspect but nothing was conveyed back to me. I did not actually see the dash crack at the time it happened, so it must have been while the vehicle was stationary. …”
