Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The dome light switch can be used to override the daytime running lamps, by pushing it in and out twice. The drls are turned off and a bell notifies you. This can be done at any vehicle speed / gear. This dome light switch is similar in shape and size to the fog lamp switch right next to it, and at night while driving it is difficult to tell the difference which one is being pressed. The problem lies with the fact that at night when the car is started, the headlights come on automatically, how nice. …”

NHTSA complaint #756950, filed 2002-01

“Dashboard lights are too bright. Consumer is unable to see speed. Dashboard lights can not be dimmed to remove glare out of the driver's window and side view mirror.”
