“On 9/23/12 while changing a flat, it was discovered that the spare tire has rubbing on the side walls. The spare tire has never been used as we just bought the vehicle new. Brought this to the attention of the dealership on 9/24/12 as to how we should secure the spare without causing rubbing again. They advised they would look into it and call us back. Still have not heard anything. Concerned with continued rubbing on the side walls if we should ever need to use the spare again as it can blow out.”
NHTSA complaint #10479423, filed 2012-10, 3,300 miles“Have p275/55 r20 bridgestone dueler h/l alenza tires with 25,600 miles on them, 10/32 of tread left and the dry rotting is horrible especially around the rim! Contacted bridgestone directly to see if they had any active recalls and was basically brushed off as an ozone problem. The lady said bridgestone had no recalls on any of there tires. Very disappointed in bridgestone and concerned this could lead to a very bad blowout.”
NHTSA complaint #10895336, filed 2016-08, 25,600 miles“My 2012 Suburban has 90,000 miles. I had the lifters and oil pump go bad in october. Two weeks later I am back in the shop because the wheel bearing has gone bad. This is not covered under warranty. Also my dash is cracking. I had a 1999 Suburban and never had these problems.”
NHTSA complaint #10919218, filed 2016-10“The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that the tires constantly became flat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer stated that the aluminum wheels were corroded and would not hold the bead that held pressure in the tire. The dealer stated the rims would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.”
