“The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact was traveling 5 MPH when a knocking noise was heard from the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who confirmed that the upper intermediate steering shaft needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 64,000.”

The contact was driving 15 MPH over a road bump when there was an abnormal thumping felt within the steering wheel. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or a local mechanic. The contact stated that the defect was within the steering column. The failure mileage was 26,000.”
