“In aug. Of this year I was driving with my friend in the back seat when I made a turn the left rear door opened. I pulled over to close it , door would not latch. About one year ago same problem. Paid dealer to fix same latch. Oct 2005 GM recalled only ext. Versions of 2002 Trailblazer. I have a reg. Trailblazer. Door cannot be used because it will not latch closed.”
NHTSA complaint #10167522, filed 2006-09, 125,461 miles“Left rear door latch on 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer ls is corroded. There is a recall on the ext but doesn't pertain to the ls. I can't shut my door because the latch won't hook.I opened the door and could not shut it after that because it wouldn't latch. Have not bee able to locate part at a reasonable price so have not been able to fix it yet. Contacted dealership and they looked up recalls but couldn't help us cause our VIN number isn't covered.”
NHTSA complaint #10370646, filed 2010-12, 140,000 miles“While attempting to change from the outside (slow) lane on interstate 35 a speeding car attempted to pass me. I swerved back into my lane, note; this was not a severe steering maneuver. The 2002 Trailblazer immediately rocked and went into a roll. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance carrier. 1. None of the air bags deployed, front nor side. 2. The locked drivers side door opened up on impact. 3. The SUV roll occurred with out severe over steering.”
NHTSA complaint #10088151, filed 2004-08, 43,000 miles“Two years ago the liftgate when closing would not lock and remote lock key fob failed to work. Dashlight indicated that tailgate was ajar and dome lights remained on. In the last year the controls on the driver' s door quit working. The power locks, windows, and side mirror controls did not work. Rear defroster will not work. No parts have been replaced because dealerships will not do it for free. I could not afford to fix this problem. Very frustrating.....first new vehicle, and it will be my one and only Chevrolet. …”
NHTSA complaint #10185708, filed 2007-03, 35,000 miles“I live in southwest ohio and I own a 2002 Trailblazer. I noticed that in december of 2006, my rear windshield wiper would not function when turned on. Shortly thereafter, we had our first frost and I noticed that the rear defogger/defroster was not working. It is now nearly 0 degrees outside and even if I clean the window with a scraper, it still frosts up while driving. I have looked for a fuse to replace, but find none for the rear defrost, and the one for the rear wiper is fine. …”
