“I came out to my vehicle today, unlocked the door with the keyless remote but the driver's door was unresponsive. Upon starting the vehicle I realized the windows don't work on the driver's side as well. I removed the driver door control module to find a burn mark internally on the door as well as burnt plastic on the door module itself. The window and lock worked fine the night before so I'm concerned with the short circuit occurring over night without a key in the ignition.”

NHTSA complaint #10482502, filed 2012-10, 85,000 miles

“While driving down the road in my 2006 trail blazer I had a door switch/latch malfunction. In my vehicle when you pass 15 MPH the doors automatically lock. At that moment the doors switched to locked and at the same exact time the door lock/latch failed and the door opened while the car was moving. I made arrangements with my local chevy dealer via chevy customer care to correct a recall with the door switch. When I received my vehicle back the door latch/lock was not fixed. That part wasn't under recall. …”

NHTSA complaint #10543931, filed 2013-09, 114,000 miles

“I hit a bump one day and the interior light popped on for a second and then went off. I eventually realized the rear door was not latching at all, I tinkered with it, tried some wd-40, it does work intermittently, but is getting to the point where its not latching the majority of the time. The 3 bolts holding the locking mechanism and the point where the lock with latch do show signs of corrosion. It appears the 2003 trailblazers had this same issue and eventually there was a recall. At 38,000 miles I also had the fuel gauge issue and the fuel sending unit is bad.”

NHTSA complaint #10262030, filed 2009-03, 38,000 miles

“Driver door power window and lock control circuit board malfunctioned and started to smoke and failed to operate driver window, also lights inside window and door lock switches no longer works, upon removing switch assembly I found it to be badly melted and black, it appeared to have caught on fire.”
