“While driving at about 60mph my ABS light came on an my car started jerking as the anti lock brakes kicked in. I let up off the gas but as soon as I applied the gas it continued, I then pulled over to turn the engine off I let it sit for about 5 min an started it back up an it was fine. This has happened several times over, an usually when I am going at a higher rate of speed. I would say it has happened at least 10x in the past year.”

NHTSA complaint #10681875, filed 2015-02, 80,000 miles

“When I was driving downhill on curvy road, I applied the brakes during a turn and the power steering had activated my anti-lock brakes. It kept happening on every turn and when I took my car to a shop they had to replace a steering angle sensor.”

NHTSA complaint #10524695, filed 2013-07, 60,321 miles

“Stabilitrak/ABS engaging randomly while driving at regular and highway speeds!!!! While driving on the highway at 60mph stabilitrak light comes on, vehicle reduces speed,I can not accelerate, loud grinding sound from front end, vibration felt from brake pedal when I tried to depress the brakes. I had to pull over turn the vehicle off and restart. Very dangerous and scary situation semi was behind me and had to swerve to the other lane to avoid hitting me!!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10460911, filed 2012-06, 80,000 miles

“The summer of 2013 I had it brought to my attention that my driver side brake light would fail to light up as the brake was applied. I tried changing the bulb but that proved to not be the problem as it still failed to light up. The following summer the same thing happened with the passenger side brake light. I am unsure if it is an electrical problem or a sensor that has gone bad. I can only assume that it is an electrical problem due to the fact that the back windshield wiper stopped working due to electrical issues.”

NHTSA complaint #10594198, filed 2014-05, 135,000 miles

“My wife, daughter and myself were driving on idaho state highway 70, a narrow, winding, two-lane road with little to no shoulder, when the motor stopped and ilost all power-brakes, steering etc. I was fortunately able to steer the car over to a wide spot on the shoulder and stop. I was unable to re-start the blazer and called aaa to have it hauled to knudtsen Chevrolet in coeur d'alene, idaho. In another half hour we would have been driving 70 MPH on interstate and the outcome could have been disasterous if the car had failed then in high volume traffic. …”
