“A deer ran across the road. In an effort to avoid a collision, my wife swerved but the vehicle began to spin around and she could not control it by counter steering. My wife struck a post sideway on driver side. The vehicle was declared a total lost by california insurance who has the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10525315, filed 2013-07, 89,900 miles

“The drivers side trailing arm failed on my 2006 Chevrolet Uplander. As a result of this failure, my van was unable to be driven and required a tow to the shop. This vehicle had been involved in a rear end collision november 2010. The driver's side rear bumper and wheel area took the impact, and part of the motorcycle went under my van. We in live in phoenix, arizona where the climate is fairly dry, no salt on the roads, and no freeze/thaw. …”

NHTSA complaint #10401180, filed 2011-05, 59,950 miles

“I have a 2006 chevy Uplander lt and I started to have problems around 3,000 miles of ownership. It started with electrical issues (hard drive entertainment system, gas gauge, dimming lights, radio losing settings, hard starts, service ABS, and service traction control) and gradually moved to mechanical issues (clucking noises ? Front end, vibrations ? Front end, steering binding, and grinding noises from the front end). …”

NHTSA complaint #10226814, filed 2008-05, 13 miles

“Soon after the purchase of the van I had a problem with to much play in the steering and noise in the front end. I took it back to the dealer and they said they could not verify the problem, so we went back numerous times ,finally in 4-20133 they replaced the steering shaft. It seem to be okay for a while but after driving about 2000 miles it was loose again. My warranty has ended so the dealer says I have to pay for another shaft. How many times should this be replaced to be considered safe? Has anyone else had this complaint?”

NHTSA complaint #10616022, filed 2014-07, 27,009 miles

“Our 2006 chevy Uplander first starting having problems at about 20,000 miles when our tires (continental brand that came installed on brand new vehicle from dealer) needed to be replaced due to severe cupping on all 4 tires. We were told it was an alignment issue, so we had the tires replaced and had a 4 wheel alignment. Tires needed to be replaced again at 45,000 miles due to same cupping issue. Again, another 4 wheel alignment was performed. Fuel sensor was reading empty on a full tank of gas and the float was replaced at 16,000 miles. …”
