“Was backing out of parking space. Had foot on brake put car in reverse the motor revving flew back while foot was still on brake. I purchased it in 2013 the engine revs in both reverse and driving. Have taken to dealership they stated could not find any reason. My foot was not on gas as a matter of fact I had both feet on the brake trying to stop the car.”
NHTSA complaint #11150965, filed 2018-11, 87,000 miles“The car stalled in the middle of the freeway while driving at 65mph!! It is a miracle no other car crashed into us and killed us. It also stalls on the streets and after filling it up with gas. Sometimes it starts up again and sometimes it doesn't. The car is a safety hazard to my son and me!! It is a 2005 Chrysler 300 2.7l.”
NHTSA complaint #10731988, filed 2015-07, 115,577 miles“After refueling, the car started and then died. I restarted and then pulled away. It died again at the two following stops. It then died while driving down a hill at 15 MPH. All of this occurred within 2 miles of refueling. The vehicle restarted following each event. After parking the car for several hours the problem was gone. A similar episode happened the next time I refueled as well.”
NHTSA complaint #10676221, filed 2015-01, 69,700 miles“The vehicle will frequently shut off while driving. It will completely lose power. It also stalls, the gear shift has gotten stuck in park and would not move. The main concern is the fact that it cut off on me on the highway again today at 75mph!! Very dangerous!! Luckily the semi truck was able to swerve around me but that could have been a fatal accident! Something needs to be done about this....”
NHTSA complaint #10626802, filed 2014-08, 67,000 miles“Low oil levels, oil light and check engine light always on. Kept taking the car in to have it checked, we were told nothing was wrong, just keep adding oil. That made no sense as there had to be a reason for this. Was finally diagnosed as oil sludge and engine was destroyed and needed to be replaced. Also, because it caused the lights to be on for so long, I now need to have the computer replaced that controls the sensors for those.”
