“I was driving slowly, under 10 miles per hour, when it just up and died on me. Tried to restart, but would not. Let it sit for 5 minutes, pushed the gas pedal and held it half way down and vehicle started. But would not idle. Tried to hold pedal and put it in drive.to limp it home, but died when engaging drive. Long story short, it wont start or run unless you give it gas, will not idle in park, neutral, reverse or drive, and there have been hundreds of complaints for this. …”

NHTSA complaint #11277281, filed 2019-10, 192,000 miles

“Started car and tried to put it in gear. Could not get it out of park. A situation much talked about on line. The failure of the transmission shifter interlock lever commonly called the pink thingy on line some owners tell of having gotten a recall. I called my local Chrysler dealer. He said it depended on where the car was built if there was a recall. Imagine how happy that made me !!!”

NHTSA complaint #10465736, filed 2012-07, 85,313 miles

“Unable to shift gear out of parking position. This issue was fixed august 2009 and is happening again. Unfortunately, I never know when the issue will surface and recently, I was in a not so nice neighborhood and frightened to death because I was unable to shift from park to reverse. After a few attempts of cutting my car off and on and executing the brakes, I was able to get the car going again. So over this issue right now.”

NHTSA complaint #10650211, filed 2014-10, 161,000 miles

“I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 touring edition, the driver's side tension strut failed causing my anti-lock brakes to fail. Due to the failure I had to swerve off of the road into a small ditch damaging my undercarriage and fender wells.”

NHTSA complaint #10811682, filed 2015-12, 99,000 miles

“I have had numerous problems with my Chrysler 300, which are becoming more costly and defeating the purpose of my purchasing a new car. First, I was subject to a recall regarding the transmission. Next, the rack and pinion went out. Thankfully that was covered under warranty. Now I have to repair the outer tie rods when I have less than 75,000 miles on the car. This repair is $500.00 on top of what I have to pay for the car payment and is not covered under warranty. …”
