“I was on the highway and I had to come to a complete stop and the wheels and the whole front end started shaking and I almost lost control of the car. I looked underneath the car and noticed on the drivers side that the whole subrame and motor cradle was completely rusted. Now my car drives at MPH over 40 that the car shakes and when I need to brake suddenly that it shakes hard and is hard to control. I took it to an auto body shop and they are going to find the parts and replace them. Also the mechanic noticed that the linkage on subrame on the passenger side is broken and hanging lower.”

NHTSA complaint #11066746, filed 2018-02, 51,000 miles

“I was driving at around 15 mph down a dark road when I heard a loud pop and it sounded like something hit the top of my car. I then heard crackling above me so I opened the visor to the sunroof and saw it was completely shattered so I closed the visor right before the glass started falling down. I did not report to police or insurance. I can’t afford an expensive fix like this. I know for a fact no debris hit me and there couldn’t have been a build up of cabin pressure because my driver’s side window was down when it happened. …”

NHTSA complaint #11583211, filed 2024-04

“The contact owned a 2007 Chrysler 300. While driving 35 MPH and making a right turn, the vehicle ran over large abnormal rocks. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10726521, filed 2015-06, 80,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the gear shift was stuck in park. To avoid being stuck in park, the contact shifted into neutral and used the parking brake in order to park the vehicle. She then noticed that while shifting gears it didn't function normally. The contact was informed by the manufacturer that the vehicle was not included in recall 06v341000 (power train:automatic transmission). The vehicle had not been repaired for the shifting failure. …”

NHTSA complaint #10395748, filed 2011-04, 40,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. When the contact and/or passenger are entering/exiting the vehicle, the front doors close without warning. He and his spouse have been struck within the doors on several occasions, but were not injured. The failure was due to a design defect, although the dealer and manufacturer stated that the doors were operating normally. The failure mileage was 1,200 and current mileage was 2,500. Updated 10/24/07”
