Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “When in park my vehicle rolled backwards to the bottom of my driveway. I was able to make it happen multiple times. I was able to have my wife record it on video from both sides of the vehicle. It happened when parking partially on ice. The passenger rear tire turned against the roll of the vehicle. All 3 other tires rolled with the vehicle. My vehicle has the hemi 5.7l, 5 spd transmission, awd, and my shifter is not the dial type but a regular shifter type. Is the passenger rear tire the only one that keeps the vehicle from rolling rearward while in park? I can provide the video evidence.”

NHTSA complaint #11176104, filed 2019-02, 73,000 miles

Electrical system: “When adjusting the pedals while driving on the road, using the switch mounted on the drivers seat, the pedals went down toward the floor and the engine's RPM increased. I didn't notice what was happening at first and then the engines RPM increased and the vehicle speed jumped to 75 MPH. I tried baking and the car slowed down to 45 MPH. Since I was in a 35 MPH zone and was approaching a car ahead of me I put the car in neutral and the engine RPM increased very high. I can't say how high it went as I was busy trying to figure out what went wrong and what to do about it. …”

NHTSA complaint #11031456, filed 2017-10, 53,000 miles

Brakes: “The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated that while he was adjusting the brake pedal, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11471979, filed 2022-07, 67,000 miles

Other or unknown: “Camera intermittently cuts on and off. At times when it does come back in the image is inverted. The picture is clear but everything in it is on the wrong side. I almost hit a car because the camera showed it on my left but the car was actually on my right. Camera almost always malfunctions while reversing. Is now an ongoing issue. Brought it to the dealership while under warranty and was told nothing was wrong with it.”
