“The consumer complained about a headlamp problem. Both plastic lenses became yellow. Light provision was minimum. The driver used the high beams to be able to see at night. Even with the high beams on the actual light output was less than that of the normal low beams. The consumer was told by the dealer that this is a common problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10054054, filed 2004-03, 104,000 miles

“Headlight lens cover that becomes fogged on the inside is a very serious problem. The replacement cost is $175.00 each making very exspensive to mantain. The original should be glass, this would make it less dangerous for night driving. I went to a dealer about transmission, but they said there was no recall on that. Imformation I received from you it is supposed to be repaired at no cost???? Help !!!”

NHTSA complaint #760316, filed 2002-04

“Radio, while tuned to am stations, clicks when turn signals are activated. Headlights are effective only for a very short distance and have accumulated dirt inside of them. On cold mornings when the defroster is used before the interior of the car is sufficantly warmed up there is a clicking sound, like a short. Coming from the steering column.”

NHTSA complaint #709388, filed 1999-07

“Headlights lens cover discoloration/deterioration causing poor visibility at night. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that repairs would only be done at consumer's expense. The consumer replaced the second set of head lights for the same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #862314, filed 2000-05

“When the headlights throw shadows in the front and to the sides of the vehicle, worse when headlights are on low beams. Dealer replaced headlights under service bulletin which did not help at all.”

NHTSA complaint #808364, filed 1997-01
