NHTSA complaint #10123751, filed 2005-06, 105,000 miles

“While the consumer was standing by the vehicle it suddenly began to roll forward. Consumer ran behind the vehicle, grabbed the door and was dragged a few feet, injuring his knees, before he was able to open the door and slam the gear into park. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, where he was told he had stripped a gear. However, there was a recall for the shift interlock. Consumer felt that since the recall caused him to strip the gear when the vehicle rolled, should be part of the repair made to the vehicle, along with the shift interlock NHTSA recall 04v021000.”

NHTSA complaint #10072869, filed 2004-05, 101,000 miles

“Owned car 2.5 years. On a daily basis, it will not go into gear on any, and every, single cold start. I have to wait 1-2 minutes before the transmission will engage. I took it to a transmission specialist (cottman) and was told that this problem is inherent with this particular transmission. I cannot affort the (approximate) $2,000.00 it would take to repair this manufacturing problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10000628, filed 2002-12

“I`ve had my transmission fixed 3 times and its going out again. The brakes have been replaced 3 times also the stabilizer bar, tie rods, and wheel bearings have been replaced on both sides. The car leaks oil and anti-freeze. The sun roof doesn`t close half the time, and the tail lights don`t work on the right side. Also on the highway one time all the water ran out of my car while I was driving.”
