Counts add up complaint mentions across the listed years. A complaint can name several parts.

Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2008: “My car cranks and starts, then dies about 2 seconds later. After several tries, it usually starts. However, I have had it into a Chrysler dealer twice without them finding anything wrong. It usually decides to run just fine while in the shop. It will often go for a few months, then start repeating this scenario. This has been on-going for about a year.”

NHTSA complaint #11351816, filed 2020-08, 83,500 miles

2007: “I was riding on the highway with my daughter in passenger seat when suddenly my engine light started blinking and the RPM's shot up to about 7,000 and continued if accelerator was press. I immediately pulled over. Call aaa to have car towed to my destination. The car was now in what is called limp mode and has been for 2 months now.”

NHTSA complaint #11353598, filed 2020-09, 211,498 miles

2010: “Periodic loss of throttle control. Throttle light will come on usually while idling at a stop, car starts shaking, will not accelerate. Almost got into a wreck. I have two kids with me in the car. I thought it was safe because throttle body was replaced and didnt have problems for a couple weeks since then! Mechanics cant even figure out the problem.”
