“After getting misleading directions and going down an unknown road and ending at a stop sign, the driver of the vehicle waited a couple minutes before deciding to pass through the stop sign across the intersection. Upon passing on of the lanes of traffic where there was a vehicle at the top of the hill which gave me more than enough time to get across the road and out of nowhere a vehicle came from the right side and struck my vehicle full speed at the front end of the vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #10342129, filed 2010-07, 14,500 miles

“The lights come on when the seasons change and the car is warmed up. The alarm goes off usually when it is windy. The airbag light is the most common. It can also go on when parked and car is running. As the years have gone on, it's been less predictable. Occasionally there isn't any power when I plug something into the console, too. I've had the dealer look at it multiple times but they haven't found anything. Sometimes they don't even write it up when I'm having something else repaired. All the dealer has told me is that my airbag is disabled when the light is on. …”

NHTSA complaint #10743575, filed 2015-07, 15,000 miles

“While traveling at very slow speed (was navigating thru parking garage), while making a left turn, the passenger side-curtain airbag deployed (no one was in the right-front seat at the time). There was no impact/crash (not even a bump), the airbag just deployed by-itself. Contacted fiat/chrysler. They sent an investigator/inspector from houston (2 hours away). To download bosch airbag computer data, and inspect the vehicle. Investigator spent two hours taking hundreds of pictures, measurements, etc. Note: seat belts did not lock, as we are told they are supposed to do on airbag deployments. …”

NHTSA complaint #11071869, filed 2018-02, 135,000 miles

“Air bags didn't not deploy during a single car accident which ended in a head on crash into side of mountain then rolled over onto the roof. Speed about 30-35 mph. When tow truck turned car back over the driver's seat wasn't connected. Also prior to this accident problems with alignment, esp rear.”

NHTSA complaint #11444028, filed 2021-12

“The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Caliber. While attempting to yield to the left, the contact's vehicle was struck by another vehicle on the front driver's side. The vehicle was completely destroyed and none of the air bags deployed. The contact suffered moderate injuries. A police report was filed. She has pictures of the failure. The contact called the manufacturer and is waiting for a response. The failure and current mileages were 5,500.”
