“Each and everytime our vehicle is refueled gasoline sprays out of the filler neck ..we have found recalls of 2005 Dodge durangos such as ours but according to Dodge our SUV is not one of the ones covered for the recall. There answer to us is oh just take it to the dealer and pay for the repairs and send us the bills and maybe we will pay for it.. We feel that this vehicle should be included ion the recall as it does fall within the recalls of 2005 durangos.”

NHTSA complaint #10331695, filed 2010-05, 60,000 miles

“On dec 19 2008 as I was driving home during a severe thunderstorm when my driver side wind shield wiper suddenly stopped working and got tangled up with the passenger side wiper that continued to work normally. This happened minutes before I was about to enter the freeway so luckily I was in a place where I could safely pull over. I tried to wait out the storm but it was getting really bad so I had to drive at 20-30 MPH with my hazard lights on. …”

NHTSA complaint #10255124, filed 2009-01, 48,098 miles

“This vehicle on numerous occasions shuts off while moving down the road. Started out only during slow speeds, but has started to do it while actually cruising down the road. No warning, just total loss off steering, brakes and engine. Luckily it has cranked back up and able to get out of the road. I also have had on several occasions the temperature gauge indicate that the engine was overheating and the car will just rev up and lose power. I have had everything checked (fluids, oil pump, radiator, plugs and wires etc) and find nothing wrong. …”

NHTSA complaint #10381013, filed 2011-02, 80,000 miles

“Airbag sensor and rear liftgate. Airbag sensor has been replaced twice. Once by me at my cost through the dealer and once by them as it was under warranty. It is on again and I refuse to pay for the fix again as this seems to be a trend. Liftgate just stopped unlocking/opening. Non-powered liftgate. Only way to open the liftgate is by unlocking it with the key fob and or the electric unlock panel on the drivers side door. There is no way to open this liftgate manually. No keyhole or escape latch inside the liftgate door. …”

NHTSA complaint #10296251, filed 2009-12, 20,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. While driving 35 MPH under normal driving conditions, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The contact was able to restart the vehicle in neutral. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure. The current and failure mileages were 50,000. The consumer provided repair invoice. The dealer stated replaced door lock actuator. Udpated 06/26/07”
