“Fuel spits back at end of refueling. Dealer mentioned a recall on the inlet check valve but that my VIN was not included in that recall. It should be. It is the exact same problem. It is a major safety issue when a gush of fuel splatters all over the attendant, my car and the ground every time I fill up.”
NHTSA complaint #11231374, filed 2019-07, 100,000 miles“When I get gas it doesn't matter if I have a little gas or half a tank my gas as I'm pumping always comes out and backfires at me ....it just starts spitting out at me for no reason... Even when I'm empty and I start pumping gas it happens after about 10 seconds of pumping gas it just decides to come back at me.. So I'm wasting gas all the time it happens about every fourth time I get gas....”
NHTSA complaint #11258320, filed 2019-09, 110,000 miles“Every time I fill my tank, fuel burps back out and spills all over the side of the SUV and on the ground. I called Dodge, and they said the recall for this was already performed, and that repairing it will cost me around $900! If a recall, has been fixed, and still the problem persists, then the recall should be re-performed!”
NHTSA complaint #11021308, filed 2017-09, 206,000 miles“Reason for filing a vehicle safety complaint is as follows; every time I have tried to fill-up my gas tank on my 2005 Dodge Durango, the gas not only starts to shoot out of the tank itself, but also all over my truck, myself and all over the floor. This happens each time I fill my SUV regardless of the gas station I go to.”
NHTSA complaint #10927909, filed 2016-11, 123,000 miles“Was driving and all of a sudden I smelt something burning in the dash board and all instrument lights started to get dim and dimmer and then I notice smoke coming from the dashboard and all most immediately the door locks and windows stop working, the car would lock itself and the windows stop working at all and at this point the rear door do not open at all. …”
