“When fueling the vehicle the pump shuts off then fuel spews out. This happens every time it is fueled. The vehicle is stationary. This is a fire hazzard as well as a pollution problem. It's my understanding the 2005 model was recalled for this problem. I recently purchased this vehicle used with 195000 miles. I also see where several other people are having this same issue on your website.”

NHTSA complaint #11268027, filed 2019-10, 195,000 miles

“Hil adding gas, the fuel overflow does not shut off when full. Gas spills out of the tube and runs down the side of the Durango and onto the ground. There is considerable rusting under the fill tube. I purchased thsi vehicle 4 years ago and it has always done this. The rust area had been repaired prior to me purchasing so I am assuming this has happened before my ownership as well.”

NHTSA complaint #11065495, filed 2018-01, 120,000 miles

“I am experiencing a problem with the engine cutting off in full drive situations, all of sudden my check engine light pops up and that's my pre warning that my truck is getting ready to turn off. It is hesitant sometimes and waits till I am complete stop or sometimes it totally shuts down while driving in traffic. Very scary.”

NHTSA complaint #10898881, filed 2016-08, 15 miles

“I am having fuel fillig problems with the gas overflowing when I fill it its been about 43 years I did not know who to tell until now but online research point s a possible answer which is the fuel overflow problem is caused by the fuel tank filler check valve it also consume a lot of gas just going down the street.”

NHTSA complaint #10883799, filed 2016-07, 20 miles

“As I was refueling I noticed in the pump that it was at 29 gallons but it was still filling up and my tank wasn't empty so right away I knew something was wrong and looked on the bottom that it was spilling all the gas I'm thinking from the inside of the filler neck or hose but from under the car so something is wrong because it didn't stop filling up, thx”
