“In april 2013 I took my 05 Magnum to sunset Dodge in sarasota to find out why the car stalls. After 5 months of going back to them and them not being able to find out what was wrong. I stopped filling the car up all the way and the problem stopped. The dealer said it is not our problem. I now find out it was a know issue and many people have the same issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11289807, filed 2019-12, 30,404 miles“After filling my car with gas it runs rough and stalls several times while moving. After restarting it several times it seems ok until the next time I fill the gas again. When it stalls it sounds like the drivetrain is messing up. It does this city highway turning or straight. This has been happening regularly for at least 6 weeks only right after filling and sporadically for about 4 months or more.”
NHTSA complaint #11102888, filed 2018-06, 130,000 miles“When filling up my vehicle the car will shut off while driving, it will shudder and then die all the lights on the instrument panel will go on I will lose control of the vehicle. It only does it when I fill up the gas tank and if I am stopped at a red light or going under 45mph after filling up the tank. If im going 60+ miles it will sputter act like it is going to die but it doesn't.”
NHTSA complaint #11046491, filed 2017-11, 78,000 miles“Engine stalls multiple times after refueling while driving, usually when slowing to turn or slowing to come to a stop. I just purchased this vehicle, and have not been able to get to a dealer to have the problem checked, but I understand this is a problem with this engine and there has not been a recall to correct.”
NHTSA complaint #10924035, filed 2016-11, 37,000 miles“After filling the fuel tank to full and driving away from the station it will stall. Sometime right away from leaving the pump or shortly thereafter. Usually about the time it takes to get to the intersection near the gas station. If I am careful to not fill it past 3/4 full its ok. Although I have had issues with it restarting at 1/2 tank now.”
