NHTSA complaint #10743977, filed 2015-07, 90,000 miles

“I pulled onto a major highway after stopping at a yield sign. The truck reached about 35 MPH and suddenly it felt like something was holding the back of the truck and wouldn't let it go any faster. I pushed down on the accelerator but the truck wouldn't go any faster. I took my foot off the accelerator and stepped on the brake and almost came to a complete stop. When I stepped on the accelerator again the truck seemed to be normal.”

NHTSA complaint #10467528, filed 2012-07, 24,000 miles

“Brakes failed approaching a very busy intersection, while trying to slow down from a 55-MPH zone. The pedal went all the way to the floor with no brake response. Luckily, I had the sense to pump the brakes quickly before plowing into the busy intersection! Took the truck to the Dodge dealership and was informed after a couple of days that the failure was due to the master boost pump, but they did not have one in stock. Basically, got my truck back a week later and was in shock over the cost to replace about a $125 part (around $500). …”

NHTSA complaint #10872079, filed 2016-06, 49,000 miles

“While I was driving 30 MPH on a city street, my truck turned off unexpectedly and disabled the power steering and power braking making it very difficult to maneuver. I did notate the throttle control warning light did come on. This happened to me again in a parking garage while I was leaving, again disabling the power steering and power braking, though I was fortunate enough not to hit any cars while I was turning. My ignition switch 'win' module now acts up occasionally and the truck will turn over for a second, and then immediately turn off. I believe the root cause is the win module. …”

NHTSA complaint #11153001, filed 2018-11, 146,000 miles

“I was driving down the road when all of a sudden my front end started to shake violently, I started to slow down but it didn't help until I came to a complete stop . I then heard light grinding coming from my front left side of truck. Before I could make it home witch was about 10 miles, the grinding and loss of steering had got so bad that I was driving 5-10 miles an hour. Barely made it home. The next morning I drove it to the best service shop in town which was 1/2 mile from where I lived and it took them a month and $1700.00 later to repair. …”
