“When filling the gas tank on my Dodge RAM 1500 2010 as the tank gets closer to being full the fuel will overflow out of the tank. I have used different gas station and it is not the gas station. The last several times gas will actually spit or come out of the tank overflowing. I have tried filling the tank slowly by hand and I still have the same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10662900, filed 2014-12, 59,100 miles

“During fuel fill gas will overflow out the fuel tank after the gas nozzle clicks off. This leaves a large puddle of gas on the ground and all over the side of the truck and if I was standing near the nozzle I would be full of gas on my clothing. This happens at every fill up no matter the gas station. Seen dozens of on-line information including you tube videos of exact same issue with other same year model trucks.”

NHTSA complaint #10947064, filed 2017-01, 132,000 miles

“When I fill the tank and use the handle's clasp at the pump, gas overfills and spills. Doesn't matter what gas station or pump. I have to listen for the fill sound to change and stop it early. Took to dealership and they said a bad inlet check value. Said I need a new gas tank. I have warranty with a 100 deductible but I should not have to pay this since this is a known problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10558786, filed 2014-01, 30,250 miles

“My fuel tank strap completley rusted off the mounting hanger on the frame which almost made the tank fall off this could have created a fire while driving my truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10897491, filed 2016-08, 120,500 miles

“My Dodge RAM 1500 (2010) had its fuel pump fail. I would lose power while driving and had difficulty starting. In order to start the vehicle, I would have to turn the ignition to the on position, wait a moment or two, then start the truck. If I didn't wait the truck wouldn't start. Sometimes while accelerating from a stop or even to pass, I would notice a lack of power as if the engine was starving for fuel. Two or three times it would stall while waiting at an intersection for the light to change to green. …”
