“Cam and lifters wearing out on the 5.7hemi . Complaints all over, dealer told me it is a common problem. 8000.00 for reman engine. 4500.00 for repair on cam and lifters only. Perfectly good truck parked because I am disabled due to injuries from a fall and can't get any help from Dodge to repair”
NHTSA complaint #11209019, filed 2019-05, 136,000 miles“Truck broke down when driving city street normal conditions. Drive shaft fell off and broke in two. Related to safety recall n08 - rear axle pinion nut opened april 2013. Extensive damage done to truck, $13k or so in parts alone or more than truck value. Had my truck since june 2020, just now informing me they will not cover any damages caused by the safety recall issue (only the recall repairs which is minimal). Do I have any recourse with chrysler? …”
NHTSA complaint #11387176, filed 2021-01, 115,000 miles“I parked my vehicle, turned it off went inside for a few minutes. Came out started it up. With my foot on the brake, I tried to put it in gear (automatic transmission) would not go in gear the shifter wouldn't move. I tried a few more times and it finally went into gear. This has happened 2 times on the same day on 3 different days.”
NHTSA complaint #10746405, filed 2015-08, 77,800 miles“Only put 30,000 miles on this Dodge ram sence I got it and the rear pinion seal was leaking, got it replaced and now it is making a grinding noise so load I am afraid to drive it. The repair shop said it has lots of shavings inside the rear end. Afraid it will lock up and cause serious injury?”
NHTSA complaint #11010142, filed 2017-07, 95,000 miles“Rear axle was making loud noises, turned out I had to replace the bearings in the rear axle. Cost me over 1100.00, was told its very strange for a truck with only 76k miles to need this done. I also had the rear diff serviced by a dealer 6 months prior with no indication from them of any issues.”
