“Experienced an extreme loss of control due to a wobble/vibration that would only stop when you slowed to a speed under 25 MPH. The death wobble would go away but a slight vibration associated with a loose feeling in the steering is now constant. #94v202000, 94v097000, 93v173000, and 01v037000 all need replacing. The last recall mentioned here is the speed control throttle cable, and so far it has not been a problem. The possible effects due to its failure urges me to replace this part.”
NHTSA complaint #10658464, filed 2014-11, 100,000 miles“Clock spring had to be replaced due to air bag sensor light staying on while traveling , and inoperative horn and cruise control. Dealer was notified, and made repairs. The manufacturer declined reimbursement, consumer requested reimbursement because recall conditions were not met.”
NHTSA complaint #895302, filed 2001-08“Vehicle is used to haul horses. When pulling a load up a hill, the truck will start violently bucking. After this, can remove foot from throttle, but the throttle will not disengage, the engine will still be powering, after which the vehicle will come back to a normal state (usually at the top of a hill). Then the engine will die. The dealer cannot duplicate the problem.”
NHTSA complaint #825546, filed 1998-07“Pe 00 048/loss of throttle control: throttle stuck open while cruise control was engaged. Dealer was notified, and made repairs. The consumer had replaced the throttle cable prior to recall and the manufacturer reimbursed him only for the part and not for labor.”
