“Upon restarting my 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 diesel, my ABS light and parking brake light came on after driving a few short moments ,I also noticed that speedometer indicator was not working but the vehicle RPM indicator was. Causing myself some concern I checked my brakes and noticed I had a hard brake pedal when applied but was still able to stop. I contacted my local dealership and took my vehicle in for service for this issue and recall notice concerning the drivers air bag inflator. …”
NHTSA complaint #10758802, filed 2015-08, 62,778 miles“Two times I have had issues with the accelerator sticking and there was no way to slow my truck down to gain control. Both times it happened when I was passing another vehicle when I was on highway 99 between corvallis, or and monmouth, or. Both times it was on a straight stretch. When I went to pass, I pressed on the accelerator to get some speed. I floored it. Both times the gas pedal stuck down to the floor and I was not able to get it to release. The truck kept accelerating to up over 100 MPH before the gas pedal released and I was able to gain control of the truck again. …”
NHTSA complaint #11194477, filed 2019-04, 137,000 miles“Truck will randomly have no throttle response either while driving or coming from a dead-stop. It has also seemed to get stuck for a few seconds before also, which has also happened twice. I was crossing a railroad when the pedal lost response therefore, I had to roll off of the railroad. It has also happened while I was crossing an intersection with a trailer. I lost all power and the throttle wouldn't respond. Sometimes, when I restart the truck, it will work for a little while. Overall, it is consistent therefore, it worries me when I drive it because it will happen without warning.”
NHTSA complaint #11031381, filed 2017-10, 200,000 miles“I was driving down the road and the engine started dying then taking back off, then all of a sudden the speed odometer dropped to zero wouldnt come back up while I was still moving, then the ABS light the check enging light and the brake light and washer fluid light all came on and I lost power to the tail lights head lights and the windows started rooling up and down by them selves. When I got home and turned off the truck I called the dealer and they said that it was the tipm and it would have to be replaced. They said the trailer I was pulling must of had a short and thats what caused it. …”
