“While driving on interstate highway in my 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 diesel truck the check engine light came on and the engine shut down. It appeared that a fuel line had ruptured. Fuel had sprayed on the engine and fuel was visibly leaking from the engine. The truck was towed to the Dodge dealership where I was told that the number 4 injector tube had broken. The truck was repaired and everything seems to work properly. …”

NHTSA complaint #10551732, filed 2013-11, 114,400 miles

“The Dodge sprinter roadtrek lost power on interstate 80 about 60 miles from cheyenne, wyoming. The vehicle has 4000 miles on it. Wyoming is the middle of nowhere and the maximum speed was 50 MPH. We turned on our blinkers and limped into cheyenne. It is dangerous to lose power and there are no alternative roads to take in wyoming.”

NHTSA complaint #10233721, filed 2008-07, 4,000 miles

“There is an intermittent long start time on the 06 Dodge cummings diesel (10 to 15 seconds). After first 400 miles the truck was brought back to dealership and in formed that approximately 1/3 of the time the truck has a starting time of 10 to 15 seconds, was told they had a computer fix. Installed update and problem persisted. Took back to dealer and was told Dodge is aware of problem but has no fix. It is june of 06 and they have known of problem should have made me aware of this before I bought truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10160318, filed 2006-06, 235 miles

“Outsider air door/flap in the A/C system on my 2006 Dodge ram pickup is broken which prevents air flow to the cabin. I removed the broken door flap, but now am unable to shut off outside air flow. This is dangerous to my family's health since I am unable to prevent outside exhaust fumes from entering the inside of the truck. Apparently this is common on all Dodge ram trucks in this make/model. Replacing the flap requires removing the entire dash and is very costly to have done by the dealer. Likewise, people have had it replaced multiple times and it continues to break. …”

NHTSA complaint #10326974, filed 2010-04, 75,000 miles

“Just bought the truck , oil changed at 3500 mil, took it in today for change at 8000 miles, cummins diesel , oil had large metal particles in it, vehicle could not be released due to safety reason, motor could seize up. Just took the paper plates off of this truck,. Dealer is to start fix process monday, june 19th.”
