Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“When I activate left turn signal the right turn signal activates. When I activate the right turn signal it operates correctly. Also doesn't seem to happen when tilt steering is in up position only when tilt steering is in down position. Also windshield wipers have stopped working mid rotation. Then started working again in a short time period. I believe these problems are related.”

NHTSA complaint #10745002, filed 2015-07, 25,000 miles

“Turn signal will flash the opposite signal than the direction you desire. Example, turning on the left turn single will cause the right turn signal to flash, and vise versa, as well as causing the emergency signals to activate. I am unable to indicate to other drivers my correct direction of turn while driving in traffic or at a signal light, stop sign, merging, changing lanes, ect..”

NHTSA complaint #10781876, filed 2015-10, 128,000 miles

“I own a 2006 Dodge RAM 2500. The turn signals on the vehicle malfunction. When signaling a left turn, the right turn signal would flash, or both hazards would flash, or sometimes they would not work at all, then all of a sudden would start misfiring again. There are 85,000 miles on my truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10787717, filed 2015-11, 85,000 miles

“I have had the ABS system warning light on 5 or 6 times , turn signal problems- both turn signals work at same time, A/C problems with the compressor not working at times and now is out all together. Abs and the lighting issue is the biggest problem since it is a 2500 truck and I hall hay , tractors and a 30 ft 5th wheel trailer, people need to know what I am doing or can I stop.”

NHTSA complaint #10461124, filed 2012-06, 98,000 miles

“I had a wiper motor failure. My understanding of the Dodge ram is there is a total integrated power module that controls wipers, lights and other electrical devises. Once the tipm sees the 5th fault it shuts down what ever is causing the fault. In my case it was a wiper problem. Once the unit faults it has to be replaced and programmed for the vehicle. Cost $1264.56 for a wiper motor repair.”
