“2006 Dodge RAM 2500 heater will not switch to the defrost or the floor. Air only comes out the dash. Truck only has 40800 miles on it but Dodge refuses to fix it unless I pay for it. I consider it a safety issue. After reviewing this problem on-line I see that this is a problem for the Dodge line. They are not proud of their product. It has cost them a customer.”
NHTSA complaint #10381598, filed 2011-02, 40,200 miles“I noticed my A/C was not blowing air out of the vents, along with a loud humming coming from the A/C motor. I discovered the recirculating air door broke and it was laying on top of the A/C fan motor blocking the air from coming out of the vents. I have read and heard of several complaints of this happening to many other Dodge owners. The cost is ridiculous to replace such an easy fix.”
NHTSA complaint #10457738, filed 2012-05, 54,182 miles“I had a wiper motor failure. My understanding of the Dodge ram is there is a total integrated power module that controls wipers, lights and other electrical devises. Once the tipm sees the 5th fault it shuts down what ever is causing the fault. In my case it was a wiper problem. Once the unit faults it has to be replaced and programmed for the vehicle. Cost $1264.56 for a wiper motor repair.”
NHTSA complaint #10479754, filed 2012-10, 91,000 miles“When driving in rain at a safe speed, wipers would not come on, and then the wipers would start and stop working. When I switched on a turn blinker, both blinkers began to flash. Our local Dodge dealership says there on back order 4,000 of this part required to fix this problem. There have been complaints about this since 2009. Does it take a loss of life for a recall to take place?”
NHTSA complaint #10429350, filed 2011-10, 78,000 miles“Turn signal will either not work or show the wrong side flashing (have almost been rear-ended), wipers wouldn't work properly or at all (go very slow or not move at all when on, causing me not being able to see when it's raining hard). Flashers won't turn on at all. Happens every time I need my flashers, wipers, and blinkers. Replaced the multi-function switch and all of the problems above are fixed. I still have the old switch and I have heard it's a common problem.”
