Fuel system: “While driving, at random, a warning will display stating the following: service def system. Engine will not start at 200 miles. See dealer this has happened 10 or more times since we purchased the truck. We have the same problem with another 2011 Dodge RAM 5500 which we purchased with this one. When we bring it to the dealer, they cant give an exact reason why this keeps occurring. They once told me its because the vehicle was going 65 MPH on the high way while towing a vehicle. The check engine light has been on in this vehicle since the month we purchased it. …”

NHTSA complaint #10826107, filed 2016-02, 103,782 miles

Electrical system: “Check engine light went on. The truck is still under warranty so we took it in to go arapahoe Dodge. They were unable to fix the problem. We are not sure if something is wrong w/ the engine because Dodge can not get the check engine light to turn off. The warranty we currently possess is only applicable until we reach 100,000 miles. We think Dodge should be able to fix the problem under the warranty.”
