NHTSA complaint #10038132, filed 2003-10, 142,297 miles

“I stopped at the end of my drivway to put mail in the mailbox. Got back in the car and went to put it in gear and something broke. It would not go in any gear. Repair shop thought originally the linkage was broke. But come to find out that the tube assembly broke. They said this only happens on impact. If this had happened while traveling it would have most likely caused a major accident.”
