“We had to have three of the cars windows worked on - they would not go up or down. Now the driver side window has quit working a second time. We do not excessively use the windows. I am the sole driver of the car and ususally just take it to work 2 miles away from home and back. I use the AC. Each time we have the windows repaired it is $200 or greater. So far we have $600 into the windows. We will probably not fix them anymore when they break. We understand from cruising the internet that this is a common complaint with this make and model and year of car. Is there anything that can be done? …”
NHTSA complaint #744636, filed 2001-04“Vehicle does not start up right away. Took vehicle to dealer. Was informed that the ignition switch wires had to be replaced due to being burned in & around the column. The heater wires had burned also. The seat anchor bolts had came out of the front seat. Plugs, wires, and brakes had to be replaced.”
NHTSA complaint #842392, filed 1999-07“The pulse windshield wiper does not engage at certain settings. At other times, the pulse wiper becomes inoperable when engaging the turn indicator, causing visual problems during rain/snow. Installing a new battery helped for a while, but the same problems eventually returned. It appears to be a short-circuit/grounding problem of some type. The independent front-end suspension problem concerns a cracking sound of metal on the front-passenger side when the wheel is turned sharply to the right. This problem occurs infrequently, but has been noticed since early purchase date.”
