NHTSA complaint #10465081, filed 2012-07, 62,250 miles“The contact owns a 2008 Ford Explorer. While driving approximately 80 MPH, a loud noise emitted outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front wheel bearing hub assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred 30 miles later. The vehicle was repaired a second time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.”
